The objective of the Food Waste & Systems Workshop is to find digital solutions to reduce food waste on the consumer side. The objective of the Distant Creative Collaboration Workshop is to bring together academia and industry, willing to collaborate to find digital solutions to enable distant creative collaboration. This Digital Xchange format, organised as part of the Swiss Digital Days 2023 will address the topic of Artificial Intelligence.
Sarah Dégallier Rochat shows that humans and machines are categorically different. Where machines excel in pattern recognition, predictions and the processing of large data sets, humans impress with contextual understanding, flexibility and ethical judgement.

The AI apocalypse conjured up in the media is therefore unrealistic: many tasks cannot yet be automated and therefore remain the domain of humans (for the time being).

How AI has affected the labour market so far, why the horror scenarios spread by the media persist and why the foreseeable future – from a scientific point of view – lies in collaboration between humans and machines, we will discuss at the “DigitalXchange: Why machines can’t replace humans (yet)”.
