digitalswitzerland is a Swiss-wide, cross-industry initiative that aims to transform Switzerland into a leading digital nation. Along with our network of 170+ association members and non-political partners, including more than 1,000 top executives, we’re engaged in over 25 projects to inspire, initiate, co-create and lead digital change in Switzerland.

Winding down the 4T-DLT initiative

Winding down the 4T-DLT initiative

After three successful years, the 4T-DLT initiative activities have ended. This was a joint initiative where experts worked together to create an open repository for technical and legal information definitions and standards for a secure, interoperable and reliable Swiss Distributed ledger Technology infrastructure. It was launched under the umbrella of the collaborative innovation platform Leap from digitalswitzerland.

Stefan Metzger is the new Managing Director

Digital expert Stefan Metzger is the successor of Nicolas Bürer who leaves the initiative at his own request after 5 years. Stefan was responsible over a period of 13 years as Country Managing Director for the Swiss operations of the globally active IT consulting company Cognizant. Stefan has been involved with digitalswitzerland for a year and was a member of the Executive Committee.

The CyberSeal

The CyberSeal

The project initiative to create the independent ‘CyberSeal’ quality seal for IT service providers was initiated as part of a public-private partnership consisting of the National Cyber Security Centre NCSC, Mobiliar, Secnovum & digitalswitzerland in 2nd half of 2020. In September, CyberSeal was included in the implementation plan of the ‘National Strategy for the Protection of Switzerland against Cyber Risks’ (NCS 2.0).The CyberSeal was launched by the supporting association Allianz Digitale Sicherheit Schweiz in November.

Merger with ICT Switzerland

Together we will expand the public dialogue through Swiss Digital Days and other programmes and strengthen its commitment to digital issues at a political level, for example, by supporting the rapid introduction of E-ID, strengthening MINT (mathematics, information technology, natural sciences, and technology) vocational training and promoting the startup ecosystem in Switzerland.

Hybrid Digital Days

For the first time in its history Digital Days consisted of three days of both online and physical events for all of Switzerland to enjoy. With more than 500 free events, 100 partners and more than 20 locations across the country, we united like-minded digital enthusiasts, newcomers, industry experts and businesses to foster the development of ideas.

The 2020 general assembly was one of many firsts: It was co-hosted by a friendly robot, completely virtual and ended with a near unanimous YES vote for the merger with ICTSwitzerland.

Power Dinner on digitised art & culture

To foster mutual understanding of how digital innovation changes every aspect of our lives, we held a Power Dinner at the intersection of arts, culture and technology. An estimated 200+ guests from academia, business, politics and the public sector joined this educational networking event and an interactive programme created in collaboration with independent artists, MUDA and ZHdK.
