The initiative to create the AI Action Plan for Switzerland comes at a crucial time and in the context of a rapidly shifting geopolitical and technological landscape. The AI Action Plan seeks to align public and private efforts into a rolling action agenda in order to secure competitiveness for Switzerland in AI. We expect this process to prompt the first concrete measures as early as Q1 2026, while digitalswitzerland remains committed to accompany the development of a broader framework together with BAKOM and Accenture throughout 2026.

Building on initial discussions in early 2025 and breakout sessions in October 2025 at the digitalswitzerland Forum in Bern with Federal Councillor Albert Rösti, we are now soliciting broad feedback from representatives of business, science, administration and civil society. You are encouraged to join, suggesting and discussing fields of activity, potential actions and engaging with other contributors on the digital participation platform.

Process & Timeline. We are currently applying pre-decisional, and deliberative working frameworks (concept notes). We expect and encourage direct critique, challenging, and expansion of their content.
